Ukulele Day 03 Side

Today, we use block plan to adjust the side thickness from 2.5mm down to 1.8mm
Alternatively, we can use drum sander to sand out those white mark.
However, we use sandpaper on this side.

We need to remove white mark at this step because we will reshape it soon.

On the other side, we reverse the horned iron and use it as a scrapper.
With this way, we get a pretty nice surface.

The thickness shows 1.8mm

Then, we clean the edge on shooting board, make it flat.

We prepared our Ukulele-Soprano mold.

Compared with side's height (70mm)

This is our hot-coil tube. We use it to reshape side of ukulele.

Here shows our tested piece.

Here is my first shaping. Yeah!! it's burnt!!
I need to remember the hot tube's heat cycle. Anyway, we can sand this burnt out later.

We still shaping it little by little.
