Ukulele Day 30 Bridge

Today, we continue our bridge part.

Then, we shape the nut to fit perfectly at the nut's slot.

Bridge position is crucial here. We measure the length from nut to 12th fret. It is 171mm.
Thus, the bridge is located at 171mm from 12th fret too.
However, we need to add 1.5mm factor for the string's strength (to compensate with intonation). The total length from nut to saddle is
(171x2) + 1.5 = 343.5 mm

Bridge height is about 0-2mm higher than fret.

Obviously, our bridge is flat compared to ukulele's top (which is 28ft radius). We need to shape the bridge's surface to the same radius so that the bridge sit perfectly on the top.

We temporarily paste the duck tape as a reference area. Then we adjust bridge left/right side with nylon.

Paste duck tape on the other 3 sides. Then, we chisel out the lacquer layer because we'd like to apply the glue on this area.

Use cutter to outline the area. (2mm from each side).
