Use a ruler to touch the 2nd fret and lay the end to the nut. We eyeball that this ruler edge is a bit higher and the 1st fret then we get the nut's height.
Then we mark the nut's spacing among 4 ukulele strings. The 1st and 4th string are about 4mm from each side of nut.
Use file to mark the slot.
And sand out the nut's bottom to reduce the height.
On the saddle side, we use a ruler edge to touch the 12th fret and lift it about 2.5mm. The end of this ruler is about the saddle's height.
Also, with the 4th string.
Then, we can outline the saddle's height.
Take some times to sand the saddle and we've got our final height.
This ukulele's sound is nice and quite loud.
